Volunteering Is Rewarding

Our clinical trials volunteers play a vital role in developing the medicines of the future, and are paid from £200 per day for participation

Whether it's advancing medical science or gaining a financial boost, our volunteers have many different reasons for participating in trials with Fortrea. You can help us to develop treatments for a huge range of chronic and life-limiting illnesses. This could include breakthrough treatments for asthma, diabetes, depression, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, potentially transforming millions of lives in the UK and across the world.

We pay all of our clinical trials volunteers from £200 per day for their time

So, the longer a study you commit to, the more you will be paid for your participation. We do this because our volunteers give up their time, and agree to stick to study restrictions like avoiding alcohol and strenuous exercise. Volunteers have regular blood and urine tests while on study, so this payment is also intended to cover any discomfort or inconvenience. A higher payment does not mean that a study is 'riskier'!

Our volunteers sometimes benefit from our studies in ways they hadn't expected

Lasting friendships have been made in our Clinic, and volunteers from across the UK sometimes meet up on a study. Between tests, volunteers get to enjoy plenty or free time. We have a dedicated recreation room with Sky TV and games consoles, and a quiet room where you can get on with studying, or just curl up with a good book. While you're a resident, we'll provide you with 3 nutritious meals per day, and on longer studies we'll even do your laundry!

97% of our volunteers say that they would like to come back for more studies at our Leeds Clinic.
