The study drug is a drug that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adult patients with insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep onset and/or sleep maintenance. The use of the study drug in this study is investigational.

The purpose of this study is to measure how much of the study drug gets into breast milk of healthy lactating women. In addition, the amount of exposure of the study drug to infants through breast milk will be estimated, and the safety and tolerability of the study drug in healthy lactating women will be evaluated.  You will receive a single, oral dose of the study drug. Breast milk will be collected from each breast using a personal electric pump approximately every 4 to 8 hours or as needed.  

You will be provided an electric breast pump in order to be able to pump milk which can be stored and which is available for the infant while you are participating in the study. Study staff will provide instructions on using the breast pump and storing the breast milk at home. During the study, your infant should be bottle-fed the stored breast milk. You may resume breastfeeding after the study.

-Women ages 18+, currently breastfeeding their newborn

-Body Mass Index between 18-35

-Study involves 1 stay of 4 nights, plus 1 follow-up call

-Compensation up to $5,400 may be provided for time and participation

-Receive up to $500 per qualified participant
